Results depend on the source clip: fast motion, fine hair and busy backgrounds are harder. Footage by SHVETS production via Pexels, trimmed and processed under the Pexels license.
Take it into your edit
A green-screen clip is the starting point. These guides cover what to do next.
Before you upload
What you get, what works best, and how the free allowance works.
Try a clip up to 10 seconds without an account or watermark. You get 1 free attempt per day, subject to a shared daily allowance. Failed attempts can also use your allowance. The converter tells you if free processing is unavailable.
An MP4 with the original background replaced by solid green. It keeps the clip's aspect ratio and prepares it to fit within 1280 × 720 at 30 frames per second. Use your editor's chroma key to remove the green and add your own background. The downloaded MP4 has a green background, rather than an alpha transparency channel.
MP4, MOV and WebM files up to 100 MB, of any length. Trim the part you want before converting: up to 10 seconds free, or up to 30 seconds with credits. If a file will not play in your browser, try an MP4 encoded with H.264.
You can start with an ordinary video. Choose a clear subject with good lighting and a background that looks different from the subject. Fast movement, motion blur, fine hair and overlapping subjects can make edges less clean. Preview the whole result before using it in an edit.
Your conversions are private. Processing uploads your video to our service and processing providers; it does not happen entirely on your device. Guest access links expire after two hours, so download your result while it is available. Read the Privacy policy for storage and processing details.
Place the green-screen clip above your new background, select Chroma Key and sample the green. Follow the CapCut guide for the full workflow and edge adjustments.
